Hi there!
It feels like it has been quite a while since I have written you all a proper update, so here we are!
It has been an exciting few months, and I am pleased to say that as I write this, the sky is blue, the sun is shining and we finally have a bit of spring—so good times all round!
Christmas was hectic as usual, but with lots of fun and plenty of carol singing. One of the highlights was joining the Barnby Choir in Wilmslow to sing the soprano part in Mozart’s Regina coeli, K.108 and Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols. It was a wonderful concert and I really enjoyed getting my teeth into some new music.
The new year has felt like a constant series of journeys up and down the country, but in a good way! Rehearsals and auditions in London, a concert in Suffolk and then up to Leeds for another audition—I am becoming an excellent customer of National Rail. All kidding aside, I have met some lovely people, enjoyed wonderful performance opportunities and relished each trip in different ways.
I would also like to say how excited I am to be joining Sheffield City Opera to perform the title role in Massenet’s Cendrillon in June. I do not think there is any greater honour than being given the chance to sing such stunning music, and I am buzzing with excitement!
I will leave you with a link to my performance of Frauenliebe und Leben from November. I hope you enjoy it.
