Singing in the Spring

Hi there!

It feels like it’s been quite a while since I’ve written you all a proper update…so here we are!

It’s been an exciting few months, and I’m pleased to say that as I write this, the sky in blue, the sun is shining and we finally have a bit of spring…so good times all round!

Christmas (a long time ago now!) was hectic as usual but with lots of fun and lots of caroling. One of the highlights was joining the Barnby Choir in Wilmslow to sing the Soprano part in Mozart’s ‘Regina Coeli k.108’ and Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols’. It was a wonderful concert and I really enjoyed getting my teeth into some new music.

The new year has felt so far like a constant series of journeys up and down the country… but in a good way!
Rehearsals and auditions in London, a concert in Suffolk….up to Leeds for another Audition…I am becoming an excellent customer of National Rail! All kidding aside – I’ve met some lovely people, had some wonderful performance opportunities and have relished each trip in different ways!

I’d also like to take this opportunity to say how excited I am about joining Sheffield City Opera this year to perform the role of Cinderella in their production of ‘Cendrillon’ – Jules Massenet in June. I don’t think there is any greater honour than being given the chance to sing such stunning music and I am buzzing with excitement!

I will leave you also with this link to my performance of ‘Frauenliebe und Leben’ from back in November, now available online for you to listen to! I hope you enjoy it.
